  • finally KOREAN food for the Andy Learns series !! I have been waiting for AGES

  • BA should come to Toronto. So many types of amazing food! And of course I will be your guide.

  • As a native korean and long-time subscriber of this channel, I'm somewhat pleased to watch these contents. But I really wanna watch non-chain, individually operated restaurants (북창동순두부 is aight but still) and some of those dishes made by gyopos (2nd, 3rd-gen Koreans) with some twist to og korean dishes. I mean I know some of those David Chang stuff and Korean-mexican cuisine but it would be nice to see some 'creativities'.

  • Hi

  • Is the chef 조선족? never come across a non-chinese person with the surname 馬 before... or maybe 麻?

    • Or, another theory - they messed it up and translated 명 to Ming

    • Not sure but prolly is. And 'Ming' is not really used in Korean names so....maybe 조선족 or related to Chinese or Vietnamese family.

  • they way andy made his pajeon and how it looks in the end this would be an awesome way to make some pupusas!

  • So much for “re-examining your behavior and privilege” with BA. Andy is so fraudulent 👎🏼

  • I love how He cook s nice

  • Looks delicious. Been a long time since I had good Korean food. Oh and she moves her mouth so little when she talks that it confuses me lol

  • Ironic seeing as Andy discriminated against his Korean colleague. It's obvious that all the trash has stayed since the BA blowout.

  • Investing in crypto now should be in every wise individuals list, in some months time you'll be ecstatic with the decision you made today.

  • Good series. Love the highlighting of Korean food

  • And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: (Acts 17:30) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9) And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27)

  • One of my favorite series, on par with It's Alive.

  • Andy: using the Chef’s premade, in-house batter to make the pancake Chef: it tastes good! Andy: 🤯

  • Kimchi grilled cheese with Kraft is my favorite snack of all time

  • Korean food is the best.... period

    • @Joe Nathan you simply don’t know

    • Let’s not go nuts

  • i love this endearing old korean man in the kitchen lol

  • Idk about yall but I'm sooooo impressed you can't here ANY traffic lol

  • Please do viet food

  • looks like Andy has to put some more time in the kitchen. less writing/video on food.

  • Looks so good Andy.

  • Really enjoyed this. Many of us view these videos to escape during lockdown and it would be really nice to have the portions of the video edited out showing masks going on and off and as well as the shots of social distancing since this is a constant reminder of the problems with COVID as well as isolation. A disclaimer could be stated at the beginning that appropriate measures were taken so we don't constantly have to be reminded that this was done since we know it is necessary now. Sadly, I am sure a small vocal minority would flood the comments and tweet about lack of social distancing despite this. These idiots who constantly nitpick spoil it for all of us.

  • I NEED more Andy and Brad content! PLEASE

  • As a Korean-American who's eaten tteokbokki his entire life, I've never heard of it being described as "stir fried." 🤔 Really weird word choice there.

    • There are stir-fried 떡볶이s called 기름떡볶이. But yeah the one on this show, it's not really 'stir-fried' per se.

  • What is the theme song?

  • They came in at 1 am! Sun came out at the end!😳 And i thought the french love long dinners!

  • Chef Ma Minghai is so sweet, adorable, and highly skilled! His food looks delicious I wish I could have some 😄💓

  • nope

  • Love BA and Andy.☺

  • Adorable vibes 💖💖💖

  • Who else still at BA?

  • Anyone else notice they are eating in one of those absurd impromptu indoor/outdoor spaces restaurants had to throw up to get around lockdown rules

  • Andy cute.

  • BCD is trash so now I know Andy doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

    • It's not trash...I mean it's very franchise-y but he's not really an expert on Korean cuisine so you gotta cut him some slack

  • These are so boring. Andy is hard to listen to and doesn't have a sense of humor or star quality. Dull Dull Dull. PLEASE MAKE A SHOW WITH THE DREAM TEAM - CLAIRE & BRAD!!!

  • Where's Christina? Was she also subjected to racism and inequality at @Bon Appétit ?

    • @Aiden Lee if my memory's correct, she expressed discriminatory practices with the company but didn't take action like her former colleagues.

    • They left on their own (if my memory's correct)

  • so did Christina just disappear off the BA map? :(

  • So... tries to learn. But does not learn.

  • Mooaaarrr

  • "You develop an unfortunate bias of not embracing other textures." Is perhaps the most American description to literally anything American.

    • @nanoflower1 You wouldn't, but then I dont care what you would do.

    • I wouldn't say so much an American habit as the habit of any culture. People around the world tend to stick with what they have grown up with.

  • This series pre-dates the pandemic and the BA blow up and it was doing some important things that have now become relevant - highlighting local restaurants run by chefs of color. So good for Andy for doing it before it was cool.

  • BCD is OK. It's the place you go to after the bars when you're hungry at 1 AM. Beverly Soon Tofu closed down during the pandemic here in LA, which was sooooooooo gooooooood. If you didn't eat there, you lost out. Sorry.

  • Omg I’ve been there. Andy and I are connected now 😍

  • See she’s Korean and knows what is authentic. Non Korean Guy who’s reviewing this wouldn’t really know if it’s supposed to taste like that. I’m sure it tastes good, but when she said, “nailed it” then you know it’s legit. So this guy did a good job with this video.

  • Good for him. He’s having a Korean chef teaching him how to make Korean food. The only way it’s not considered cultural appropriation. 👍🏼 and he has a Korean chef reviewing it with him. Bravo, I can’t be offended by this. 😂 but I’m sure others sjw will be. 🙄

  • Andy looks like he took a couple tokes before tasting all these foods

  • I love Andy. He's so sassy and cute

  • I'm surprised Andy cant flip the pancake....I mean, he's a pro chef! I'm neither chef nor pro, but that's like the simplest thing in the kitchen.

  • Thanks for bringing a white guy to a Korean franchise restaurant in New York. What an authentic experience

  • Start with the kimchi to see where we’re at - mark of a true korean lmao

  • love this but i dont think susan was the best pick to introduce korean food.... there was a lot of "i think... i feel like..." isn't she supposed to be the subject matter expert? why is she so uncertain with her statements

  • [USERNAME][DATE_LONG]Tuesday, 04 May 20211620090923Tuesday

  • OK so Andy + BCD content is officially my happy place

  • Omg I truly loved this episode

  • like when Americans have Bacon...and im like HuH? where my Pork belly.

  • BCD TOFU is an awesome place to get their version of korean food. Korean food is different in each family.

  • "Outdoor dining" Clearly inside.

  • Thank you so much. your video helps me!!

  • 한국 음식 맛괜찮았나요?

  • 3:30, definitely feel like that bias isn't just prevalent in only chefs who were trained in the U.S, but also most americans! I.e what we think "breakfast," should be vs other cultural traditions (donut/pancakes vs banchan).

  • interesting the chef has a Chinese name.

  • Can Andy try cooking Vietnamese food next please? 🥺

  • As far as ice cubes in cuisine, growing up with an Italian background, summer is not complete without a tomato salad with ice cubes. Tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil, a good olive oil and frozen water. Dash of dried oregano and you have my favorite dish of all time.

  • @10:58 dolsots are made of stone like the one in the back. The soups came in a ttukbaegi which is ceramic.

  • susan and andy have great chemistry i would watch a world food trip series with them

  • i love this series so much ahshshsjs

  • Korean food is the best. Excellent food.

  • FINALLY

  • I wonder if Andy can learn Turkish food

  • So Amazing ! You should try thaifood too Thanks

  • Investing in crypto now should be in every wise individuals list, in some months time you'll be ecstatic with the decision you make today.

    • THIS COMMENT THREAD IS A SCAM. BOTS ARE EVOLVING.

    • You reach her on instagram @heathermaxwell_official

    • How do i start trading with MS Heather Maxwell

    • MS Maxwell has been managing my trade for months and i keep making profits every week. I made $7,130 last week.

    • During my little holiday in the UK, I really head a lot about Heather maxwell investment. But couldn't get in contact with them.

  • That fcking table xd

  • Bon Appetit actually using Korean people to teach Korean food? I don't get it. Are they trying to be authentic it something?

  • The host is so boring

  • There are the most carbs Andy has eaten.

  • i've been to BCD a number of times, watch a bunch of korean cooking videos, and literally never knew their base was oxtail broth... i thought it was a seafood based this whole time!

  • 경상도 사투리를 여기서 듣네ㅋㅋㅋ

  • Heyy its Andy. Nice to see him back.

  • CAN WE TALK ABOUR ANDY’S GORGEOUS BEARD PLZ 🧔‍♂️

  • 1:07 김치찌개 군침

  • What was that eyeroll at 7:25 for?

    • He’s eyerolling at himself at how difficult he found the experience.

  • I want Andy...that´s all...i want him.

  • Jazakallah for subscribe me

  • Did he gain weight? I haven’t watched BA videos for some time (since the big scandal) and he looks different but I can’t put my finger on it..

  • Come to Korea!

    • Hello. I felt you should know about the new profitable Cannabis stock exchange and investment market.!? T...e..x..t +..1...(..76..5) 5..07...-3..5...5..1 FOR ASSISTANCE or MENTORSHIP.

  • We need more of Andy

  • It's authentic Korean cooking when the instructions are vague non-standard measurements.

  • Lost me at tofu

  • aw this chef is adorbable

  • lol the soon tofu you just put stuff in a pot and mix it... and wait for the shrimp to turn red. It's not that hard

  • A Hite beer is perfectly acceptable in the morning, Andy!

  • Andy is lookin spicyyyyyy 🔥🔥🔥

  • Lol! @7:07 the chef must've thought Andy was or spoke Spanish. He's like "pokito!"

  • I miss going to the BCD in the in the OC. Nothing tastes the same

  • LA does mean lateral access. not los angeles. lol

  • So... Enough time has passed since the racial controversy that ba is back and it's okay again? Have they made any notable improvements at all? Should change the name to bs!

  • Ouf, I just had my dinner and now I'm craving pajeon and sundubu jjigae! (Luckily I have everything my pantry, I know what I'm eating tomorrow). Loved Susan and Andy together, btw!

  • Ugh I love seening non Koreans truly enjoying authentic Korean food. Also, I don't know if it's been mentioned, but BCD Tofu is open 24 hours!!! Amazing hangover AND drunk food.

  • It’s the sound fx when they’re flipping the pajeon for me 😂
