Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This NOwine channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

  • In your opinion which brand makes the BEST golf irons?

    • Beautiful clubs

    • Callaway apex

    • Mizuno MP-20 MMC are the best irons I have ever played

    • Nothing feels like a Mizuno

    • @ARTY i use my dads ping eye 2s from 1983

  • It’s not the putter u just suck

  • If you played golf in the 80’s or before you would know what impossible irons are, I played College Golf in the mid 80’s with some McGregor MT Colokrom M85 irons with a copper face that made the 76-77 Wilson Staff blades seem like game improvement irons, but I played a lot of golf back then and didn’t realize how unforgiving till I hit my Friend’s Hogan Apex PC irons and they were so easy compare to my irons and those were not forgiving irons.

  • 249 Super Game Improvement iron owners dislike this video.

  • watching this guy relives my anxiety

  • What bag is that ?

  • My chipping immediately improved when you used the proper technique. Although, the tip about the club face is great for beginners… lots of room for error and not a consistent method. That sledgehammer was a piece of junk. Your chipping was great and I need something similar. I purchased a 56 and it also was a sledgehammer. I proved I can use any club, not simply the pitching wedge that day with the CPGA “ power generator”. Straight and 120 yards easy once I warmed up. I told him I pick it up.

  • gotta have the blade putter also rick its a package deal

  • у него АХ***НИЕ ТРЕКИ, просто сами послушайте

  • Def was looking forward to watching you actually play a round with these clubs. Great concept for future videos, but being the first time you actually played with these clubs, wished you would’ve played with the whole set.

  • My dad tried those clubs and he swinged in like 90 mphs and he was in like 145 yards

  • On hole 12 you where sooooooo close

  • You should have hit your putter on that last hole. 😂

  • Some days ya just can't putt, it happens.

  • I'm a 20 handicap player. Used to be a 4, 6 years ago. Just got back at golfing and bought this set. They feel amazing and I just found out that they are hard to hit... tbh I didn't have a problem at all.

  • They are no Miura Baby Blades.

  • I play with a mid 90’s Wilson Staff set of blades. They are smaller than these. Can’t beat the feel of a good blade.

  • What distances did you hit on that first tee? 6iron tee and 5iron on approach to 308yd hole?

  • He should have stolen your putter

  • You need to scrap that putter!!!!!!

  • Those are the most beautiful clubs ever made in my opinion. I wish I was good enough and rich enough to play them. They are just gorgeous irons.

  • I didn’t like the idea of pulling clubs after a bogey. I thought the whole idea of this video was to see if Rick could play small unforgiving blades. I wanted to see Rick hit the 7i. Sigh

  • I play a lot with 1956 Staff Dynos and 1958 Tourney Copper Face irons - both sets have cord grips - you know when you miss the sweet spot - LOL

  • Rick hit the tiny blades like a boss.

  • Those clubs are beautiful, love the copper colour but way to thin for the average golfer!

  • Tom Stewart

  • I feel better about my game now having been using blade irons and struggling a bit lol.

  • How are these going to help Ricky's quickly failing swing?

  • Let’s go play 9 holes. Can i break PAAAWWW

  • Dont like putting with shorts on ??? That has to be the worst excuse for just putting poorly, I really must remember that one !!! 🤣🤣

  • if i finished the back 9 on this score id be a happy lad ....

  • To have such great shots...only to be let down by your putter-game... is absolutely the worst!

  • Removing a club from the bag for bogeys spoiled the effect of seeing you play these blades. Why would you do that?

  • pecho frio

  • Plot Twist: Rick's caddy/ cameraman is actually Tiger Woods

  • Hey Rick, +2 after the par 5 😇

  • I'm not trying to be cheeky, I've only been watching you for a few weeks now, and it seems obvious to me that if you dedicated a solid few months towering on your puts, you'd be taking at least 2-3 strokes off each round, easy. Please make a series dedicated to improving your putting game, and let your pro friends in on it! Would be VERY fun to watch.

  • Not the greatest of ideas to take irons away if the video is to review all the irons...

  • Play Bayonne Golf Club New Jersey

  • Useless video mate.. wanted to see how the irons performed.. not just how well you can hit an easy 9 iron or easy 6 because you don't have a full set in the bag... really disappointed in this one. "faux 14 club challenge.. with 7 clubs"

  • What did you do with that tee when you were lining up your putt on the first hole?

  • I have Cobra Baffle Blades in the shed Bloody awful lucky they only cost me $15 for the full set.

  • Rick hating how he’s playing with blades = best game Of my life 😂😂

  • Dang that putter was not giving you any favors. But those blades are amazing

  • Am thinking of buying these blades - Forged MB but not the rev33.

  • Last Friday I played a comp for "Persiomons and blades" so persimon woods and blades with steel shafts made before 1990. I got to borrow a set of clubs, Hogan Apex irons and a Muirfield driver. So a set of clubs I had never held before, and a golf course I had never played before. Almost every tee shot was "blind". I shot 82 ( par 70 ), +4 first 9, +8 last 9, which I am feeling good about. Only 4 shots off my "handicap". The fact that tour players don't play blades upsets me, they really should. To try to preserve the game we know and the courses we grew up with. Modern clubs demands 7000+ yards courses. Why are we surprised rounds take 5+ hours now? We played the comp in 3h50min, no golf carts. Do as Seve did, grab yourself a blade and until you can hit that you don't need any other clubs.

  • I would love to have one of these pw lh stiff shaft. But left handed golfers are not good enough!!!

  • Imagine how many clubs the cameraman carried around those holes from taking them out of ricks bag

  • Not even 2 minutes til the first ad- fucking fuck !

  • Rick, a wise man once told me "it's not the putter"..;)

    • I also forgot to mention that I have never walked a course with an empty bag and was just wondering what that felt like. LOL

  • It’s not the arrow it’s the Indian Rick. The flag robbed what was going to be a great save.

  • I can’t wait to not get the Rick shields signature putter😂😂😂😂 I’m kidding I love your videos

  • For all the fear expressed about the clubs at the beginning, you seemed to hit them well.

  • 1 of the most beautiful irons ive ever seen.... Hit the demo 7 iron, loved it... But know i can not really really play with them. Either way beautiful iron

  • Would have been much better if you didn't forfeit clubs.

    • stupid!! We wanted to see ya play these incredibly hard to hit clubs...

  • I’ve seen the biggest improvements on my game thanks to you rick. I have a long way to go though but thank you for your videos

  • Awesome product and video

  • How hot was it if it is lower than 110 then come to Vegas

    • Rick: *misses 20 ft putt ohhhh i'm soooo bad at putting -_-

  • That putting performance 💩

  • 4:40 whos ball landed at the back? hmmm?

  • I used to hit tiny forged blades like that in the 1980s, they looked a lot like these except for the fancy copper. I miss the precision and the feel when I'd pure them. That used to happen often back in those days when I was a low single digit handicapper and practiced regularly. What I don't miss is the feeling like you just slapped your hands on a 30 degree day when you'd miss them. I can't hit irons like that anymore.

  • why take clubs out? Lets just see how he can play with them. Kind of stupid

  • Watching this my first thought was next Rick Shiels video following this one is "my new putter, what did I choose?"

  • The reason why the way this challenge was done was not good is because by eliminating a club for a bogey, we ended up not seeing what these irons can do. This was not well thought out. Is the challenge interesing, yeah, but it really does a dis-service because the whole point of this video is to see what the clubs can do, not how well Rick can play with less clubs. This was a massive let down.

  • Not sure that was a 'gimme' on the 13th the way you were putting!!!

  • Do you think that these irons are training aids, that Fowler uses to practice with, then when he plays tournaments he uses other irons which are now so much easier to use after practicing with these?

  • I don't think blades are that hard to play with, (especially for a player with Rick's ball striking skills). Most of what you lose in forgiveness, you get back in playability (or the ability to play out of tight lies). I don't like a huge iron head when the ball is sitting down in a divot or other rut.

  • Is this why I never see Fowler anymore? 🤔

  • Try using the brownings 440 irons mate 👍 they are smaller irons

  • Your telling me this guy is a pga professional

  • Wish ya just played all Irons, u mentioned how hard they are to play.. and even say Rickey don’t even use them.. and then u go and mess it up by pulling a club with each hole... stupid!! We wanted to see ya play these incredibly hard to hit clubs...

  • I loved blades when I was a golfer. I would have loved these - can’t play anymore unfortunately because of circumstances but still love the game.

  • Rick: *misses 20 ft putt ohhhh i'm soooo bad at putting -_-

  • From a business perspective it doesn’t make any sense to sell these clubs to the public. I wonder how many sets they have sold.

  • I would like to see him play until he runs out of clubs. See how many holes he can complete.

  • Really Rick watching that video is a pain. Like your work but talking soooo long before every single shot looks like you just wanna stretch it out and it's annoying. The sound of the clubs btw. Awesome 😎

  • You’re the most wholesome NOwiner

  • can’t play well with these. If he keeps this up he will be the player with the most bladed irons on the Korn Ferry Tour.

  • This whole time I thought this video was filmed a month ago😂

  • Bombtech wedge review

    • Calloway imo…and I’m a ‘beginner’, my Mavrik Max clubs works well for me…

  • I like how you have to warn someone that water will get you wet.

  • Does Rick hole putts? :D

  • What watch are you using for yardage?

  • If he would have taken the putter out of the bag after the 1st would have scored much better.

  • Is it just me or are all these NOwine golf pros terrible with the flat stick?

  • Regardless, you were really striking them well today (until the green 😅)!

  • Rick, would you count the hybrid when taking out the woods? I'd like to try your challenge, but I don't want to cheat.

  • The delirious hell presumably stroke because lasagna unknowingly slap after a volatile swordfish. secret, hungry rain

    • the clubs video and remove clubs as we go" I am truly lost for words that are not profanity... Rick chalk this up to Hubris and lets do better please.

  • Keeping the putter out of the bag was the smart play Rick … !

  • The smallest Blades out there are the miura baby blades.

  • If Rick could putt 20% as well as he can drive, he’d be on the PGA tour

  • No don’t take the 4 iron?! 🤦‍♂️

  • Ping Zings 2

  • Your iron shots with the small blades were great save the few exaggerated hooks. Maybe you should test a smaller head Odyssey putter and retire the huge one you have in the bag? 😀

  • Calloway imo…and I’m a ‘beginner’, my Mavrik Max clubs works well for me…

  • Taking clubs out of the bag was worse than pointless. In testing irons, don't you want to hit as many of them at their intended distances as possible?

  • Looks like you need that RF blade putter, its on rev 96 now and still going…

  • Loved the challenge aspect of this. I also appreciate you showing your misses/mistakes makes watching more relatable!

  • I honestly would have enjoyed this vid more if you had been able to use all the clubs.

  • Got the black king forged MBs as my second set of irons, incredibly thin and small as well but by far my favorite irons. Would like to try these knives at some point though.

    • I love me some rick. But I swear 8+ is the bane of his life. I don't think I have seem him sink anything 8+ ever!
